Cheap Party Balloons

July 25, 2009

I was home visiting my family and we celebrated my mom’s birthday. My sister brought a disposable helium balloon kit called Balloon Time. I have to say it may be irrationtional but I loved it! It was a helium tank, 30 balloons and ribbon for $19.97 at Wal – Mart and $18.09 at Target ( in North Carolina).helium50 The savings in cost /conveience was unbeliviable to me. For Vivien’s 2nd birthday we spent $15 on 50 animal print balloons and blew up 25 of them with helium the day before at 50 cents per balloon and $1.50 for ribbon. (total of $29). I had to have the balloons blown up the day before as the party was on a Sunday morning. The balloons were on the floor before the 10 am party started… a total bummer & waste of money.

Upon further research I found you can order these helium balloon kits online. There are 30 balloon in a kit or 50. The expect time the balloons will hold the helium and float depends on if they are latex or foil. Foil ones float for about 4 days and latex 5-7 hours although ours lasted over two days.

Target online is pricing just the tank at $49.99 (Disposable 12-lb. tank holds 15 cu. ft. of helium) and I saw them on Amazon.com for a hefty price as well. So if you can find them in the stores locally for under $20 it’s a great deal.
